limeLime has been used as the binder in mortars, plasters, renders and paints for centuries. Antoine has recently been updating his skills with this sustaianble material so we are able to offer these skills in our construction services.

 

Lime Putty was the base product widely used to produce mortar, plaster and limewash for traditional buildings. Lime putty mortars offer advantages over cement based mortars for the external rendering of these properties, especially when decorated with a breathable paint such as limewash.

  • Their porosity allows the structure to breathe.
  • They can accommodate general movement better.
  • Their self healing nature reduces cracking problems.
 
Hylters - Nearing Completion

This crescent shaped low energy dwelling is being built using the Nudura ICF (insulated concrete formwork) system. Like a Passiv Haus this building has been designed to be air tight. The high levels of insulation, shape and orientation of the building mean that it will require virtually no additional heating throughout the year
